Agapi Stassinopoulos

Author of "Unbinding the Heart"

Today’s guest is a bestselling author and speaker who inspires audiences around the world along with her sister Arianna Huffington. Agapi Stassinopoulos is joining me today. She recently gave the final keynote speech at She Summit 2015 in New York where she had the crowd roaring with laughter while also delivering messages found in her latest book, Unbinding the Heart: A Dose of Greek Wisdom, Generosity and Unconditional LoveIn this book she shares adventures from her life and the wisdom she’s gained from those experiences as well as the values that her Greek mother instilled in her and sister Arianna.

Prior to her latest book, Agapi has written books on Greek Archetypes which have been turned into PBS specials.  Most recently she is developing a curriculum on Heartfelt Leadership for both the Wharton and Columbia Business Schools in order to provide tools for conscious leadership into today’s workplace.  The principles are based on generosity and empathy in order for people to live a more fulfilling life.  She is also heavily involved in her sister’s “Thrive” movement where she helps Arianna conduct workshops with big name companies and brands including Nike, Starbucks, Time Inc., Whole Foods among countless others.

Three takeaways from our interview:

  1. How she found her spark riding the New York City bus one day after an unsuccessful audition.
  2. The dynamic of her relationship with sister Arianna Huffington…Did you know they’re roommates?
  3. Why wealth has nothing to do with money.

November is all about giving back at So Money!

I’ve partnered with Joe Saul-Sehy, host of the Stacking Benjamins podcast to host a charity fundraiser/competition the entire month. He and I have each selected a personal charity and our goal is to raise tons of money with your help.

The So Money charity is THON, a dance marathon and the largest student-run philanthropy held at Pennsylvania State University (my alma mater!) that helps raise money and awareness for the fight against pediatric cancer. You can donate here.

The Stacking Benjamins charity is Texas 4000, a 4,000 mile bike ride that University of Texas students take to raise money for cancer research and cancer related causes. You can donate here.

The podcast that receives the MOST money for its charity will win the chance to write the introduction to the other person’s podcast in January (buhahah!)

We’ll keep you updated throughout the month!
