Howard Eisenberg

Author + Poet Laureate

Have you ever read What To Expect When You’re Expecting? Or seen the movie? Or seen the book at the bookstore? I’m 99% sure you’re familiar with that title. It’s been dubbed the “parenting bible” and an estimated 93% of expectant mothers read this guide.

Well today’s guest, Howard Eisenberg, is the husband of the co-author, Arlene, of that book who is a prominent and successful author in his own right.

Howard is almost 90 years old, which makes him to date my oldest and perhaps wisest guest on the podcast. Howard is an award winning author, journalist, songwriter and playwright. He’s written a film, 10 books, as well as a musical, Million Dollar Bet. Later this year Howard will be publishing a book called Adorable Scoundrels, a treasury of toddler poems for grandparents.

Howard was also the song writer for Eddie Fisher, the American pop sensation who sold millions of records and one of Elizabeth Taylor’s many husbands.

In our interview we discuss the biggest piece of advice he finds himself giving over and over again. We also talk about the lifestyle shifts that came with wealth and success. Plus, how his time in the military helped him discover his passion.
