Alexandra Dickinson

Founder + CEO of Ask For It

Today’s guest is on a crusade to close the gender wage gap. Alexandra Dickinson joins us. She’s the founder and CEO of Ask For It, a boutique consulting company that is working to close the gender wage gap and effecting change on both the institutional and individual level. Ask For It works with companies, schools, organizations and individuals through a combination of trainings, workshops and consulting. Ultimately, their goal is for both women and men to be paid based on their talents and skills, not their gender. Alexandra arrived at her entrepreneurial role as the founder of Ask For It after a layoff. She’s only 30 years old and realized this is the time in her life to do something relatively risky, and so far it has proven a success.

We learn why she is so savvy when it comes to asking for it, and that requires going down memory lane a bit. She has pretty influential parents. And of course, I got to pick her brain, how do we ask for it so that we get it?

If you’d like to learn more about Alexandra visit the company’s website askforit.co, follow them on Twitter @AskForItCo and follow Alex’s personal account, @_AlexDickinson.
