Imagine being a millionaire and then losing most of your wealth in an instant. My guest today stared down the barrel of bankruptcy at as the head of a financial markets education company during the most recent financial crisis.

Her name is Julie Ann Cairns and she’s here to today to share her riches to rags…back to riches story. She has a new book out this month called The Abundance Code: How to Bust the 7 Money Myths For A Rich Life Nowbased largely on her own personal experience with the ups and downs of money, as well as the lessons learned from coaching clients.

Julie Ann has more than 20 years of experience in analyzing global economic trends and the financial markets. She has a bachelor of economics with honors in econometrics from the Australian National University and a master of economics and finance.

Julie founded Trading Pursuits Group, a financial market education company where she serves as the Managing Director

In the book, and in our conversation together, Julie Ann shares some of her financial teachings, which include:

  1. How to become aware of your subconscious beliefs around money and patterns of self-sabotage. Do you think you need to work hard to make money? Do you think that you can’t ever be wealthy? Or that money won’t make you happy? These thoughts may be limiting you, Julie Ann says.
  2. She also discusses how to rewrite your beliefs about money that may be keeping you behind.
  3. And why desire plus knowledge does NOT necessarily equal success.

  • Wow, I am so happy and thankful that I got to hear this podcast today! After hearing Julie talk about each of the 7 myths, I think I’ve been believing all of those for most of my adult life! I have been in and gotten out of thousands of dollars of credit card debt twice in my life – once when I graduated from college and then once again when I got married. Both times, I climbed my way out of the hole to be debt free. But here I am years later, in the hole again with thousands of dollars in credit card debt. It’s odd because I know all of the strategies and tools on how to become debt free, but what I need to learn is how to STAY debt free. I’m wondering now if it’s these limiting beliefs that have been holding me back from having true wealth and staying out of credit card debt. I need to read Julie’s book to find out more!
